Delores Kuehl, 88

Delores Kuehl, 88, a resident of Sunrise Assisted Living in Glen Ellyn and formerly of Elmhurst, IL and retired in Alexandria, died Sunday, October 27, 2013 in Wheaton, Illinois.

She was born August 31, 1925 in Minneapolis to Andrew and Gladys Johnson.

Delores attended Northwestern Bible College in Minneapolis. She married Delbert Kuehl after he returned from serving in WWII as a chaplain. In February of 1951 they left for Japan as missionaries with The Evangelical Alliance Mission (TEAM). They served in Japan until returning to the states in 1959 when Delbert became associate director of TEAM in Wheaton, IL. She became a member of Grace Bible Church in Elmhurst where she had a ministry of teaching high school girls and ladies Bible studies.

Delores had a beautiful voice and sang in the church choir as well as performing solos and duets. Throughout her life she had a passion for teaching the Word of God to women.

She is survived by four sons, James (Sue), Dan (Margaret), Nathan, and Tim (Luann); and her daughter, Nancy (Rick) Tischler; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one due in December; and her brother, Floyd (Judy) Johnson.

A visitation will be held Sunday, November 3 from 3 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 6 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main Street in Wheaton, IL. Interment will be held Monday, November 4 at 10:30 a.m. at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.
