For more than 30 years, McMahon has spoken nationally on the dynamics of attachment, brain development and early trauma. Her keynote session, A Servant's Heart, will address how helpers learn how to give.

The workshop will challenge the professional helper to be mindful of their self-care and understand the many barriers to proper self-care. The presentation encourages the participant to think about resiliency and what that means on both personal and professional levels. While this topic is serious in nature, the subject matter is presented through story-telling and humor.

Two breakout sessions will offer topics such as:

• Early Brain Development, Attachment, and Trauma

• Building Writing Readiness Using Handwriting Without Tears

• Growing Up Wild - Helping Children Explore Nature

• Infant Massage

• Make and Take Basic Concept Activities

A certificate for six clock hours is available or .6CEU's. Breakfast, lunch and vendors will also be part of the day's agenda. JZ Fire Extinguisher services will be available to service fire extinguishers.

For brochures or more information, contact the Alexandria Technical and Community College, Customized Training Department at (320) 762-4510 or 1-888-234-1313. Early bird registration deadline is October 5.
