DC and Hawk to perform free concert Thursday
The group DC and Hawk will perform at the Red Willow Arts Coalition free concert on Thursday, June 7 at 7 p.m. on the lawn at the Douglas County Courthouse in Alexandria.
The group provides traditional, country, country variety and gospel shows.
* Duane Carter, "DC", has more than 50 years in the music industry performing with such greats as Johnny Cash, the Statler Brothers, George Jones and others. In 2007 he was inducted into the Country Music Association Hall of Fame with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
* LaVonne, known as "Hawk," adds harmony and has the magic touch to run the equipment.
* Linda, better known as "Songbird," has performed on TNN and Midwest Country and at the Minnesota State Fair. She has toured Canada and the U.S. as lead vocalist for many groups and is being nominated for a lifetime achievement award with the Country Music Association.
Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets. In the event of inclement weather, listen to KXRA 1400 AM for cancellation information.
