Day of the Lakes to be held in Alexandria
Do you have questions about your lake or lakeshore property? Have you been searching for the right person to answer your questions?
The Douglas Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) and Douglas County Lakes Association (DCLA) are sponsoring an event for anyone wanting to know more about our lakes, water quality, natural resource management and zoning.
The Day of the Lakes event will be held Saturday, April 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Douglas County Public Works building.
Representatives from the DNR, SWCD, Minnesota Waters, Sauk River Watershed District, Land and Resource Management, and RMB Environmental Laboratory will be on hand for discussing concerns.
Steve McComas, the "lake detective," will speak at 1 p.m. about the mysteries and monsters in lakes. In the land of 10,000 lakes, a few strange and unexplained lake mysteries have been reported. He has solved many of them. Lake monsters have been found lakes, including some in Douglas County. The lake detective has handled those as well.
"I will give tips on how to solve lake mysteries and how to battle lake monsters," said McComas.
Bring along your own lake questions and solutions should be given for any mystery or lake monster out there.
Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
