Courage not needed to do the right thing
To the editor:
The cost of new bridges nationally only seems expensive until you consider how much money we have wasted on the uncivilized, stupid, greedy wars in Afghanistan and Iraq ... and until you consider the alternative: millions of injuries, deaths and lawsuits.
Despite all that, a Republican law in 2012 got rid of a bridge dedication fund so bridge repairs and replacements don’t get priority unless local politicians have sense and integrity enough to do it. It should not take courage to do the right thing, but in secular society it always does.
