Council considers fee for 911 signs
Those who move into some newly annexed areas of Alexandria may have to pay a $30 fee so their property has a 911 sign.
At its meeting Monday, the Alexandria City Council gave preliminary approval to establish the new fee.
It will only apply to annexed areas that the city determines are more rural in nature. The signs would tie in with the county's computerized emergency response addressing system.
