The Otto Bremer Foundation issued the community challenge a year ago to help increase AACF's capacity to enhance philanthropy and meet growing needs in the Alexandria community.

"These dollars will go a long way in supporting key community programs and efforts that make this community such a great place," said Kelly Jenzen, chair of the board of directors of the AACF.

The challenge is part of a two-year grant from Bremer that provided AACF with an additional $140,000 to award to local nonprofits over two years, as well as two community challenges to grow AACF's endowment and sustain its strategic grant program year after year.

Otto Bremer Foundation has now issued the second community challenge and will match every dollar donated to AACF's endowment this year, up to $50,000.

The AACF is a public charity that attracts and administers charitable funds for the benefit of the local community.
