Community Education classes offered

A Separation. This film casts a revealing light on contemporary Iranian society, taking on issues of gender, class, justice and honor as a secular middle-class family in the midst of upheaval winds up in conflict with an impoverished religious one. It is a domestic drama that offers acute insights into human motivations and behavior as well as what goes on behind a particular curtain that almost never gets raised.
Mary Pohl, a retired teacher of English as a Second Language, is the film's discussion leader. The movie is in Farsi with English subtitles.
Cost is $5. The film and discussion will take place at the Grand Arbor Theatre in Alexandria on Monday, December 3 from 4 to 7 p.m.
Photography Open Forum. This class is an open discussion of problems, challenges and opportunities in regards to photography. Bring your camera and manual, tripod (if you have one) and questions.
Cost is $19, The class will be held Tuesday, December 4 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Discovery Middle School Room D253 in Alexandria.
