Comedic duo Anderson and Hansen to take the stage in Alexandria
When Louie Anderson takes a break from his award-winning show in Las Vegas, he likes to head home to visit his family in Minnesota.
And when he does, the comedian, who has appeared on the Tonight Show, David Letterman and starred in several of his own cable specials, usually makes a call to his comedy colleague and friend of 30 years, Scott Hansen.
As long as he's in the Midwest, Anderson likes to do a few shows with his old friend.
This time, the two are pairing up to bring a night of comedic fun to the Holiday Inn in Alexandria.
Anderson, along with special guest, Hansen, will be performing Thursday, September 17 at 7:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn.
General admission tickets are $24.95 and gold circle "meet and greet" tickets are $34.95.
Tickets are available through Brown Paper Tickets and can be purchased by phone at 1-800-838-3006 or online at www.brownpapertickets.com.
Anderson said that when he is afforded one of these rare opportunities, he likes to get in front of the friendly faces that gave his career its jumpstart.
The Minnesotan and Midwestern values and sense of humor are the backbone of his act, he said.
Whether it's to develop material for a new comedy special or just to get back to the basics of "Minnesota Nice," Anderson always presents the Emmy award-winning comedy that has made him one of America's most beloved comedy entertainers.
Hansen is a veteran of HBO, Showtime, Comedy Central and A&E. He is also the five-time winner of the Minnesota Comedian of the Year award.
When Hansen gets on stage, the audience knows within an instant that they are not watching television. The crowd readily realizes that this is going to be a one-of-a-kind comedy experience.
He has been hailed as a giant of a man and a mountain of a comedian. Hansen hits the stage with a teddy bear demeanor, which draws the unsuspecting crowd into his whimsical world.
