Lifestyles Expo 2014 offers a fun day out for all ages.

The expo, set for Saturday, March 29 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Viking Plaza, is hosted by the Echo Press and co-sponsored by Pete’s County Market and Viking Plaza.

There is no cost to attend the event, which features nearly 60 exhibitors and a variety of entertainment taking place near the mall’s center court.

Music on the Mall will be provided by Livewire Entertainment throughout the day.

Attendees may register for door prizes, and many exhibitors will have drawings at their individual booths as well.

Alexandria Men’s Chorus - 2:15 p.m.

The Men’s Chorus began in March 2013 when a group of men who simply enjoyed singing got together.

The group is under the conductorship of Steve Dietz and has a current membership of approximately 30 vocalists.

The musical repertoire includes sacred titles, spirituals, show tunes, barber shop and more.

Since its formation last year, the chorus has made appearances at a variety of venues.

Chorus members come from many backgrounds, and it is open to any men who love to sing.

Music on the Mall

Livewire Entertainment will provide Music on the Mall throughout this year’s Expo.

Founded in 1999, the company has provided disc jockey services at hundreds of weddings, school dances and corporate events, and provided sound reinforcement services for theatrical and musical events, lecturers and speakers across the Midwest.

Tina and Lena - 11 a.m.

The popular local comedy-singing duo Tina and Lena return to the Expo stage this year.

Witty, wild and wonderful, these two ladies pull out all the stops to entertain audiences of all ages.

Each performance is a blend of hilarious comedy and rich harmonies; an engaging, customized celebration of the audience; and a blast of fun from the first joke to the final song.

Tin and Lena have performed for three decades in more than 20 states and in Canada.

Lena (Annette Olsen) lives in Alexandria with her husband, Dave, and is a mother and grandmother.

Tina (Sue Edwards) lives in Alexandria with her husband, Allen, and is also a mother and grandmother.

Just For Kix - 12:30 and 3 p.m.

Just For Kix is a leader in dance instruction. It offers proven technical training, a focus on teamwork and a respectful experience for students.

Currently, Just For Kix offers classes in more than 200 locations in a 10-state area. Classes engage pre-schoolers through adults and offer current, relevant dance curriculum. Styles offered in the Alexandria program include kick, jazz, lyrical and hip hop.

As dancers progress through the program, they experience the health and fitness benefits of working to build cardiovascular endurance, strength and flexibility, along with the core attributes of confidence, pride and friendship.

The vision of the organization is a tribute to “doing your best.” As a youth-centric organization, Just For Kix recognizes the role in cultivating character in the dancers.

“We’re proud to develop not only dancers, but leaders,” states Crystal Hoepner, the Alexandria Just For Kix program director/instructor. Additional local instructors include Megan Berry, Alexandra Wodash and Jorgia Espino.

Schutz Taekwondo Academy - 1:30 p.m.

The Schutz Taekwondo Academy of Alexandria is dedicated to providing a well-balanced martial arts experience. Instructors are trained and knowledgeable in a variety of martial arts such as Taekwondo, Hapkido, Kumdo and Judo.

Instructors are able to provide a well-rounded training regiment for all students regardless of age. They understand that each student is an individual who needs to be treated with respect but also needs to be pushed in order to reach potential growth.

At the Schutz Taekwondo Academy, instructors enhance the student’s growth, not only as a martial artist, but as a productive member of society.

Grandmaster Kevin Schutz has nearly 30 years of experience, and Master Josh Waltzing has more than 15 years of experience in martial arts. The Schutz Taekwondo Academy has provided martial arts instruction to the Alexandria area for 15 years.

A few of the services provided are competition team training, elite martial arts program, weapons training, self-defense classes for non-martial artists and the Empower Boxing Fitness program.
