The Brandon-Evansville girls had a tough night offensively and it resulted in a 44-39 loss to Henning last Friday night.

The Chargers hit just 12-of-50 shots from the field and went 1-for-15 from three and 14-of-25 from the free throw line. That was enough for the Hornets to pick up the win and drop Brandon-Evansville to 7-7 on the season.

“Henning played really good defense,” Chargers head coach Dick Simpson said. “I think they were taller all over, but they defended really well. We didn’t get many good looks.”

Brandon-Evansville fell behind 13-2 before battling all the way back to tie the game at 20 by the break. The Hornets pulled ahead 35-29 with about five minutes left and never let that lead disappear.

Emma Friedrich was the only Brandon-Evansville player in double figures. She had 18 points to go along with 14 rebounds. Megan Kokett and Carrigan Okerlund each added six points apiece.

The Chargers are still 5-1 in the Little Eight Conference. They will welcome in Underwood this Friday for a conference tilt against the Rockets.
