Coats needed for United Way annual coat distribution effort
United Way's annual Coat Distribution is set for Thursday, October 21 at St Mary's Catholic School Cafeteria in Alexandria from 2 to 6 p.m.
Anyone needing warm winter outwear is invited to come to the cafeteria to select something that will help them keep warm and snug this winter. There is no charge for any items.
If you have coats, snow pants, hats, mittens, gloves, scarves or boots that you would like to donate, you may drop them off at the United Way Office, 2504 Aga Drive or at any of these locations beginning October 1:
Alexandria - Alexandria Technical and Community College, American Launderers and Dry Cleaners, American National Bank, Bremer Bank, Curves, Gate City Bank, First State Bank, Glenwood State Bank, KSAX-TV, Neighborhood National Bank, Pete's County Market, State Bank and Trust, U.S. Bank, Viking Savings Bank and Wells Fargo.

Last year, United Way gave away more than 1,400 coats. Coats are delivered and distributed in Pope and Douglas County.
Coats are available year round at the United Way Office. There is always more demand than can be filled for men's and women's extra-large sizes and children's coats and snow pants.
