Classic cars on display August 8
The Parkers Prairie Classic Vehicle Show is scheduled for Sunday, August 8 as part of the Parkers Prairie Fall Festival.
Registration will take place from 8 a.m. to noon on the north end of City Park, north of the steamer. There is a $10 entry fee for the event, which is sponsored by the Parkers Prairie Lions Club, COOL-FM 94.3 and a variety of other businesses. There is not a fee for out-of-state entries.
An awards ceremony is set for 4 p.m., where they will not only hand out trophies, but there will be special recognition for Best of Class and Mayor's Trophy.
Divisions in this year's car show include the 2009 Winner's Circle, collector (four different divisions), sports cars, street rods, convertibles, muscle cars, fast and furious class, special interest, pickups (stock and modified), best paint job, best engine, survivor, motorcycle (stock and custom), vintage motorcycle, vintage snowmobile, classic boats and tractor/farm-related.
There will also be a "classic song and dance revue" for two age groups. "One for the younger people and one for the older people who know what classic means!" according to organizer, Jim Arvidson of the Parkers Prairie Lion's Club. The song and dance revue will take place after the parade.
