Class will focus on children's mental health issues
A child's mental health class will be offered on Thursday, February 10 at the Alexandria Technical and Community College (ATCC) from 6 to 9 p.m.
This class will focus on supporting and promoting the social and emotional health development of children. The course will also provide an overview of some of the most commonly diagnosed childhood mental health disorders.
Topics covered will include possible causes, warning signs, behaviors, symptoms and cultural considerations of childhood disorders and diagnosis with an emphasis on intervention practices and techniques.
This class is taught by Julie Trosvig, MSW, LGSW, a counselor at the ATCC. Three clock hours are available.
