Class offers tips for creating garden that attracts beneficial insects
Here's an opportunity to learn how to create a yard that welcomes wildlife with beneficial insects: A "how to attract the good guys to your garden" class will be offered at the West Central Research and Outreach Center in Morris.
Whether you have a small patio garden or a large lot in the country, you can provide an inviting habitat for butterflies, bees and songbirds by choosing the right plants and following a few simple garden design principles. Led by Dr. Margaret Kuchenreuther, associate professor of biology at University of Minnesota Morris, the class will be offered Wednesday, February 20. Bring a lunch; 30 minute program begins at 12:15 p.m.
Admission is free; donations accepted. Coffee, tea and dessert will be provided. It will take place in the AgCountry Auditorium at the West Central Research and Outreach Center, 46352 State Hwy 329, Morris. For questions, call (320) 589-1711.
