Civil War exhibit to be displayed at art center
In honor of the 150th anniversary of the Civil War, the Evansville Arts Coalition will have items from that period on display the month of October. The exhibit can be viewed at the Evansville Art Center (EAC) at 111 Main Street, Evansville.
This exhibit will open on Friday, September 30 and run through Saturday, October 29.
The Evansville Historical Foundation will also display Civil War memorabilia from the Evansville area at the EAC. The display will include a flag, pictures, uniforms and more. Local residents will have reenactment costumes on display.
Other events have been planned during the month of October at the EAC in honor of the 150th anniversary of the Civil War.
Barry Babcock, a Minnesota historian, will speak about Minnesota men in the Civil War on Monday, October 10, 7 to 8:30 p.m.; and Candace Simar, area author, will have a book signing and will lead discussion about her book, Birdie, on Saturday, October 22 from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
