Civil War artifacts on display at ITOW Veterans Museum

"Celebrating Minnesota in the 1800s" is the theme of the exhibits on display at the ITOW Veterans Museum in Perham through the end of December.

Including in the exhibits are photographs and artifacts from the Prospect House and Civil War Museum of Battle Lake which houses an extensive collection of civil war artifacts from James A. Colehour who settled in Battle Lake shortly after the war.

Also on display are a selection of documents and photographs from the Becker County History Society and a number of articles that belonged to members of the Grand Army of the Republic. The G.A.R. was a veterans organization that was formed after the Civil War to give support and aid to veterans.

The ITOW Veterans Museum's winter schedule is Monday - Friday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday closed. Saturday hours are still uncertain. Call (218) 346-7678 or (218) 346-7676.
