Chippewa River Watershed Project Annual Meeting is March 27
The Chippewa River Watershed Project (CRWP) is hosting its annual meeting on Thursday, March 27 at the Starbuck Community Center in Starbuck. The evening begins with registration and social gathering at 5 p.m., meal at 6 p.m. and program at 7 p.m.
During the social gathering, displays will be set up for guests to enjoy. The program will include updates from CRWP staff and feature a presentation on soil health by Don Reicosky, retired soil scientist for the USDA-ARS, North Central Soil Conservation Research Laboratory, Morris, and adjunct professor in the Soil Science Department, University of Minnesota, St. Paul.
Understanding soil health, protecting soil health and enhancing soil health are key to productive and healthy watersheds. Utilizing practices and management options that protect the living soil simultaneously addresses water quality, farm profitability, resilience to extreme weather, climate change, economic risk, wildlife needs, and many others.
