Chargers softball loses third straight

The Brandon-Evansville softball team committed eight errors on Monday night as Browerville took full advantage of those in a 13-7 win for the Tigers.

Just five of the 13 runs allowed by Brandon-Evansville were earned. Kinsley Randt struck out six and allowed five runs, two earned, on four hits and a walk in 5 2/3 innings.

The Chargers’ Emma Friedrich had a big day at the plate with three hits, including a home run and a double. She finished with two RBIs and two runs scored. Carrigan Okerlund also went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored, while Toni Wright had two hits, including a double and a run scored.

“We started out strong in the top of the first,” head coach Kasi Huschle said, “but Browerville hit the ball hard and was able to capitalize on our mistakes.”
