“They found a couple holes in our defense and really went at them,” Chargers head coach John Holsten said. “Late in the first half, we were within five and they had three straight possessions where they hit three-point shots. The last one went off the glass. Then they started the second half and scored two quick baskets, and we were done.”

The Wolverines had four players in double figures. Damon Gibson had 21 points, 16 of those in the first half. Jason Montonye added 16. Nate Bauer finished with 11 and Johnny Connelly had 10.

Skyler Quinn led Brandon-Evansville with 22 points, nine rebounds, two assists and two steals. James Huisman added 13 points and three rebounds as well.

The Wolverines were efficient from the field, hitting 29-of-45 shots. The Chargers countered by shooting 20-of-52.
