Central Lakes Symphony Orchestra to perform third, final concert of season
The Central Lakes Symphony Orchestra will perform its third and final concert of the premiere season.
The concert will take place Sunday, May 23 at 2 p.m. in the outdoor amphitheater at Carlos Creek Winery.
Tickets for the concert are $10 for adults and $5 for students.
Tickets are available at Carlson Music in Alexandria, from any orchestra member or on site on the day of the concert.
The concert will be held rain or shine. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be moved into the arena at Carlos Creek Winery.
Chairs are provided, but attendees may bring a blanket to sit on if they prefer. Beverages will be available for sale and a reception will take place immediately following the concert.
The group will perform a "Scandinavian Tribute" with selections from Grieg, Three Pieces from Sigrud Jorsalfar; Nielsen, Symphony No. 1; and Greig, In the Hall of the Mountain King.
The orchestra, under the direction of Brad Lambrecht, boasts 70 members from many local communities including Alexandria, Nelson, Vining, Garfield, Brandon, Fergus Falls, Glenwood, Villard, Osakis and Miltona.
Members are 16 years of age or older and include nine parent-child performers.
Central Lakes Symphony Orchestra is a non-profit organization with a board of directors.
The board members are Joelle Burreson, chair, and Karen Erickson, Patricia Jensen, Larry Ortloff, Jacob Stone, Erik Vigesaa and Deb Thompson.
Donations are sought to assist with rehearsal space rental, expenses associated with organizing a non-profit, purchasing music rights and more.
