Celebrating the strength of community
The Alexandria Area Economic Development Commission (AAEDC) and Alexandria Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce announced the upcoming Business and Industrial Appreciation Day (BIAD) luncheon.
The 30th annual BIAD Award Luncheon will take place on Tuesday, October 22 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Arrowwood Resort and Conference Center on Lake Darling near Alexandria.
In honor of the event's 30-year anniversary, this year's luncheon will highlight the past 29 BIAD recipients and their accomplishments in a celebration of the economic vitality and growth of the Alexandria area.
The 30th BIAD luncheon will pay tribute to their vital role in the community through their continued success and investment in the region.
Since 1984, an Alexandria area business or organization has been selected annually as the BIAD recipient and has been honored for its significant contribution to the social and economic vitality of the Douglas County region.
The honored company is selected based on the jobs it creates for the community and region, the investments it has made to facilities within Douglas County and the contributions it has made to the community.
The local celebration has become one of the largest Greater Minnesota events with consistent attendance ranging from 350-450 regional citizens, businesspeople and government officials.
