Celebrate Recovery launches men’s step study
Celebrate Recovery in Alexandria launched a new Celebrate Recovery men’s step study this month. Open to newcomers for the next two weeks, the high-commitment group meets at 6:30 p.m. Thursday evenings at the Sixth Avenue Community Center, 1615 6th Avenue East, Alexandria (across from Anderson Floral).
This men’s step study is an in-depth recovery group designed for men dealing with dependency on alcohol or drugs, pornography, low self-esteem, need to control, depression, anger, co-dependency, depression, fear of rejection, fear of abandonment, perfectionism, broken relationships, and other issues.
The group promotes an atmosphere of trust that enables recovery through strict confidentiality and anonymity, clear group guidelines that protect participants from feeling “fixed” or judged by others, and a series of biblically-based recovery guides.
Participants are also welcome to take part in the main Celebrate Recovery night every Monday starting at 6:30 p.m. at Alexandria Covenant Church, 4005 Dakota Street.
Celebrate Recovery is a biblical and balanced program, based on the actual words of Jesus, that helps people overcome their hurts, hang-ups and habits. Originally launched 20 years ago at Saddleback Church in California, Celebrate Recovery is now in more than 20,000 churches worldwide.
