October may seem far away, but not if you plan on building a catapult.

Carlos Creek Winery in Alexandria will be hosting a Catapult Contest in conjunction with its annual Applefest, which has been slated for October 16 and 17.

The first-ever Catapult Contest will feature four divisions - corporate, collegiate, amateur and high school. Contestants in each division will design and build their own catapult or trebuchet to compete for greatest distance in each division.
