Catalyst Covenant Church, Alexandria, along with The Regeneration Center, will host a seminar for parents, grandparents, young adults and youth on “Having Winsome Conversations with Your Kids and Others About God, Faith and Life.”
The seminar will be led by Joshua Erlien and will be held on Wednesday, July 16 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Sixth Avenue Community Center, 1615 Sixth Avenue E. in Alexandria. It is free and open to the public. Child care is available onsite for a donation.
The seminar will include learning how to engage kids, youth and others in their faith and life questions, how to not be afraid of tough questions, learning where to go to find answers, and understanding different types of doubt.
A native of Alexandria and a graduate of Jefferson High School, Erlien is chapter director with Ratio Christi (Latin for “The Reason of Christ”) at the University of North Carolina, Charlotte.
Ratio Christi is a global movement that equips university students and faculty to give historical, philosophical, and scientific reasons for following Jesus Christ.
Erlien has also worked with the missions organization TEAM at Southern Evangelical Seminary and has participated in a lecture tour in Italy. He speaks at panel forums in the Charlotte area and also speaks to churches, community groups and families on commending Jesus Christ through winsome conversation.
He and his wife, Nita, also an Alexandria-area native, have four children and reside in Charlotte. They are passionate about helping families and students thrive by passing on the faith to the next generation.
