McKenzie Revering scored just 18 seconds into the game and the Cardinals never looked back from there. Sam Klimek connected on a rebound goal later in the first with the second assist of the night going to Melissa Drown along with the first for Lauren Niska.

The second period saw Niska get a goal of her own.

“It was a highlight-reel goal to say the least,” head coach Blair Hovel said. “Kaila Dewanz passed the puck to McKenna Schroeder who passed to Niska at the point. Niska then toe-dragged easily around two Flying Warriors and sniped the puck high short-side on the goalie. It was truly a beautiful goal.”

Drown then took over the final frame to put the finishing touches on the win. She scored unassisted four minutes into the third before adding another goal off a pass from Klimek. Drown then finished off the hat trick on the power play with less than two minutes remaining off a rebound after a Revering shot. Niska also assisted on the final goal.

The Cardinals moved to 5-3 with the win and to 2-1 in the Central Lakes Conference. They will take on another league foe tonight, Friday, when they welcome in Sartell-Sauk Rapids (5-1-1).
