Cardiology seminar offered in St. Cloud
Health care providers who work with cardiac patients are invited to the 14th Annual Cardiology Seminar from 7:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, February 5, in the Windfeldt Room at CentraCare Health Plaza, 1900 CentraCare Circle in St. Cloud.
Cost, which includes a continental breakfast and lunch, is $80 for CentraCare employees, $90 for others. Attendees will earn 6.5 contact hours. Registration deadline is January 29.
The seminar focuses on providing education, information and updates for staff working with cardiac patients. Topics discussed at the seminar include:
non-surgical vascular therapies;
risk factors and treatment options for peripheral vascular disease;
how to us the CHADS risk assessment for atrial fibrillation;
update on nutrients that affect heart disease risk;
sleep issues and cardiovascular disease;
palliative care of patients with heart disease;
practical ways to improve diet selections for heart patients;
supplementation of omega three fatty acid and what amounts;
transitional care models and their impact on heart failure.
