Card swimmers 10th at U of M

The Alexandria swimming and diving team finished 10th in the Bronze Division with 112 points at the Maroon and Gold Invitational at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center this past weekend.

Hannah Eklund, Kate LeBrasseur and Madalyn Winger all had two top-16 finishes for the Cardinals. Eklund took eighth in the 200 IM (1:09.95) and fifth in the 100 breaststroke (1:13.76). LeBrasseur was ninth in the 200 IM (2:27.69) and 16th in the 100 backstroke (1:09.95). Winger had a fifth-place finish in the 500 freestyle (5:48.36) and a 10th-place finish in the 200 IM (2:28.36).

Alexandria also put a top-16 relay into each event and had 13 season bests. Mikayla Meece and Kate Edenloff had two apiece. Ally Timm and Meece took off two seconds in the 200 freestyle. LeBrasseur shaved two seconds off her 200 IM time. Emily Wallerich was two seconds better in the 100 butterfly. Megan Bristow improved by seven seconds in the 500 freestyle and Hannah Lindgren took off four seconds in the same event.
