Card helps save on healthcare costs
The providers of the Coast2Coast Rx card recently announced that the Association of Minnesota Counties (AMC) Board of Directors has endorsed its prescription discount program. Their constituents will receive reduced prices on prescription drugs and other health care services.
The boards of commissioners in Blue Earth, Douglas, Redwood, Stearns, Steele, Wadena and Watonwan counties have approved the program. Residents have collectively saved more than $54,000.
The Coast2Coast Rx card saves consumers up to 75 percent on prescription drug costs and offers discounts
on additional healthcare. It requires
no expense or additional work by county personnel.
The AMC sees the Coast2Coast Rx card as an effective tool to reduce the costs of their taxpayers' healthcare costs. It alleviates pressures on county government and increases revenues for all counties involved, said executive director Jeff Spartz.
With an average nationwide savings of 60 percent, the card can offer significant relief to those without health insurance. It also can be effective for those with insurance who pay high deductibles or need prescriptions that are not covered under their current plan. In some cases, the card can be used to help alleviate the expenses of the Medicare Part D "doughnut hole."
