Businesses urged to be on lookout for robbery suspect

In response to the armed robberies that have happened in the area recently, the Alexandria Police Department and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office provided the following safety alert to businesses:

“Since February 23, 2014, three armed robberies have occurred at Alexandria businesses. In each of the robberies, a lone male suspect entered the stores during business hours where a young female clerk was preparing to close. The suspect was armed with a handgun and he bound the female employee before leaving the store. In each robbery, a white male suspect entered the store through a customer entrance.

“The suspect wore different clothing in each robbery, but in each robbery the suspect concealed his identity with a mask and gloves.

“The Alexandria Police Department and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office are providing this information so that store managers and employees can be on the alert for suspicious or unusual behavior.

“If you see unusual behavior, call 911 immediately to provide details.”
