Bursch Travel sponsors Car Care Saturday
Fred and Terri Bursch recognize the importance of the family car as part of any travel. To help support the Douglas County Car Care Program (DCCCP) and help fix cars for families, Bursch Travel sponsored the recent Car Care Saturday at Juettner Motors.
Seven volunteers came to help fix the five cars that were scheduled for repair. However, one car did not need the anticipated repair, and another car was considered to have too many issues to be considered feasible for repair.
One of the three cars that were repaired received four tires and a battery. Another received two tires, an alignment, an inner door handle and an oil leak check.
The third vehicle became a project car, needing the sliding doors back on track, repair of the door gasket, front brakes, a headlight and brake lights, wiper blades, and a replacement intake gasket.
With the technical support of Juettner Motor technicians Jeff Snyder and Shaun Mathwig and the DCCCP volunteers Jerry Wright, Dave Wosmek, Ron Droppo and Jim Korkowski, the work was completed in record time.
On the following Monday, Connie Hutchens, whose car had too many issues, received a donated vehicle. The Bursches were available to present the keys for the 1999 Buick Century.
Contributions to help support the Car Care Program can be sent to DCCCP at 110 6th Avenue East, Alexandria, MN 56308 or can be made online at www.douglascountycarcare.org.
To donate a car, bring the car and title to Koep’s Korner at 204 6th Avenue East in Alexandria or contact DCCCP at (320) 460-7911.
The mission of Douglas County Car Care is to foster independence by providing car care.
