Broadway update: water and sewer extended to buildings

Crews are working hard on the water and sewer work on Alexandria's Broadway this week. Here's the lastest update City Engineer Tim Schoonhoven provided today, Tuesday:

"The contractor continues to make good progress on the installation of the phase three utilities.  Water and sewer services are now being extended to the buildings between Sixth and Seventh Avenues.  The storm sewer main has now been extended most of the way from Sixth Avenue to Seventh Avenue.  There are a number of storm sewer catch basins in this phase which will eventually be installed and connected to this storm sewer main.

"Amy Bower, the project landscape architect, will be working with the contractor today on the installation of the benches and trash receptacles in phases one and two."
