Bring family to puppet yoga adventure
Evansville Art Center and Z Puppets Rosenschnoz, with support from the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Legacy Funds, will present Monkey Mind Pirates Family Yoga Party Sunday, June 23 at 2 p.m. at the Evansville School west gym.
A puppet, rock, yoga adventure, this program is an interactive program for parents and children of all ages in search of calm. It offers a mix of puppets, music and yoga.
Participants will help Captain Fitz navigate the stormy seas of stress and tame the unruly Monkey Mind Pirates. Join the quest for calm with original songs, yoga poses and a playful approach to mindfulness.
Z Puppets Rosenschnoz artists Shari Aronson and Chris Griffith have earned many awards, including support from the Jim Henson Foundation, National Endowment for the Arts, Puppeteers of America and the Minnesota State Arts Board.
The Monkey Mind Pirates CD was the winner of an award of excellence from Creative Child magazine and featured as a top pick by Creative Play Retailer.
Based in Minneapolis, Z Puppets has toured across the country. Appearances have included the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art, the National Puppetry Festival, the Walker Art Center and Boston's Puppet Showplace Theatre.
Z artists have an extensive background teaching classes, workshops and residencies for students of all ages. Aronson and Griffith have served as arts education specialists for the Perpich Center for Arts Education, Children's Theatre Company and the Educational Theater Association.
