Brandon-Evansville football falls at Underwood in playoff opener

The season ended on the road against Underwood Tuesday for the Brandon-Evansville football team in a 48-14 loss in the opening round of the Section 4 9-Man tournament.

Underwood jumped out to a 28-0 lead in the second quarter against Brandon-Evansville and did not look back. Head coach Tim Pattrin said injuries from earlier games forced him to start some of the team’s younger players against Underwood.

“We played a lot of young guys tonight and we had a couple of young mistakes,” Pattrin said. “They will learn and be better for it.”

The Chargers were only able to rush for a total of 85 yards while passing for 102. Quarterback Tom Bosek completed only three passes, but two were for long touchdowns. McKennen Plaster caught one pass for 62 yards and a touchdown, and Collin Carlson caught a 32-yard pass in the fourth quarter for a touchdown. Skyler Quinn also caught one pass for eight yards.

James Huisman led Brandon-Evansville’s rushing attack with 13 carries for 54 yards.

Plaster led the defense with 21 tackles and Quinn had 10.
