Brandon-Evansville football: Chargers drop fifth straight

The Brandon-Evansville football team dropped its fifth straight game in a 24-20 road game in the season finale against Bertha-Hewitt last Wednesday.

The Chargers led 20-16 at halftime, but the Bears scored a touchdown with a minute left in the fourth quarter to take a 24-20 lead. Brandon-Evansville was held scoreless in the second half.

Chargers’ quarterback Tom Bosek complete five of his nine passing attempts for 98 yards and two touchdowns in the game. Mckennen Plaster caught three passes for 39 yards and a touchdown, and Skyler Quinn caught one pass for 58 yards and a touchdown.

James Huisman led the ground game with 10 rushes for 71 yards with a touchdown in the game.

Quinn led the Chargers defense with 16 tackles and 4.5 tackles for a loss. Cody Lund also had double-digit tackles with 11 and picked up 2.5 tackles for a loss.

After finishing the season with a 3-5 overall record, the Chargers opened the section playoffs on Tuesday, yesterday, against Underwood.
