The Brandon-Evansville FFA chapter capped off another successful year with an awards banquet on March 19.

Parents, advisors, business owners and other residents from the community celebrated the occasion with a social hour, dinner, speaker, Ron Branch, and the awards program.

The evening ended on a high note with drawings for door prizes, donated by local businesses.

Brandon-Evansville FFA officers included Tim Fenlason (advisor), Adam Fenlason, Kannen Lund, Will Schroeder, Jordan Lund, Katie Kokett, Zach Carlson and Ethan Way.

FFA students honored for sales included Kannen Lund, second place for fruit sales; Jordan Lund, first place for coffee sales; and Adam Fenlason, first place for fruit sales.

Will Schroeder received the Star Chapter Farmer honor while Adam Fenlason was awarded the Star Green Hand.

Alex Englund received the Star Ag Placement award and Jordan Lund was honored with the Outstanding Member Award.

New Green Hands included Katie Kokett, Ethan Way, Jordin Lund, Adam Fenlason (Star Green Hand), Chris Johnson, Ty Johnson and Zach Blowers.

The New Chapter Farmers award was presented to Kannen Lund. Will Schroeder was named Star Chapter Farmer.

Brad Anderson, a custodian at the school and a member of the FFA Advisory Board, was presented with the Honorary Chapter Farmer Award.

Al Edenloff is the news and opinion page editor for the Echo Press. He was born in Alexandria and lived most of his childhood in Parkers Prairie. He graduated with honors from Moorhead State University with a degree in mass communications, print journalism. He interned at the Echo Press in the summer of 1983 and was hired a year later as a sports reporter. He also worked as a news reporter/photographer. Al is a four-time winner of the Minnesota Newspaper Association's Herman Roe Award, which honors excellence in editorial writing.
