Brandon-Evansville boys' basketball: Haseman is Little Eight MVP
The respect that Brandon-Evansville senior forward John Haseman has in the Little Eight Conference was evident when the all-conference teams were announced recently.
Normally, the league MVP goes to a member of the conference title winning team. Instead, Haseman took home that honor on a Chargers team that finished 6-6 and fourth in the league standings.
Haseman led the LEC in rebounds and points scored in conference games. He put up 284 points and 127 rebounds to average a double-double at 23.6 points and 10.6 rebounds per contest.
Haseman was joined by fellow senior Blake Satterlie as the two Brandon-Evansville players who were voted to the all-conference team. Ashby's Blake Ohren, J.P. Moe and Tanner Langlie also made the squad, while Alec Alberts and Eric Ronning represented Parkers Prairie.
League winner Battle Lake had the most players voted onto the team with four in Petric VanErp, Tyler Ukkelberg, Dan Marso and Tony Ukkelberg. Dan Peterka was named the LEC Coach of the Year after leading his Battlers team to a conference title and a state tournament appearance this winter.
