Boys soccer falls late against Sauk Rapids

The Alexandria boys’ soccer team saw a late tie slip away as Sauk Rapids scored three goals in the second half to earn a 3-1 Central Lakes Conference win.

Kevin Roedel connected on a goal off an assist from Spencer Lucas early in the second half to tie things at one apiece. The Storm responded with goals in the 65th and 77th minutes after that to secure their third win of the season and drop Alexandria to 4-8-1 overall and to 3-6-0 in the CLC.

Senior goalkeeper Zach Lamb suffered an injury in the game when things were tied at one apiece. Lamb stopped six of the seven shots he faced before having to leave. Quinton Nienaber replaced him the rest of the way.

Alexandria outshot Sauk Rapids 12-9 on the night.
