Boys soccer breaks scoreless streak against Willmar

The Alexandria boys' soccer team finally broke a three-game scoreless drought with a 2-1 win over Willmar in two overtimes.

The win also broke a three-game losing streak for the Cardinals, who are now 3-5-0 this season and 2-3-0 in the conference.

Kagan Foster scored to put Alexandria on the board just two minutes into the game. The goal was assisted by Kevin Roedel.

After the Cardinals headed into the second half with a 1-0 lead, Juan Contreras from Willmar scored in the ninth minute. The score remained 1-1 after regular time ended, and neither team was able to score in the first overtime.

In the second overtime, Foster scored his second goal of the game to put the Cardinals on top. The goal was assisted by Devin Crowe.

After the goal, the Cardinals were able to hold off the Willmar attack for the win.

Zach Lamb picked up the victory by stopping 10 shots and allowing only one goal.
