Boys hockey: Cards take two on the road

Seven different players scored for the Alexandria boys’ hockey team in a 7-1 road victory over Little Falls on Saturday.

Levi McFarlane, Zach Johnson and Brady Bast all scored to give Alexandria a 3-0 lead after the first period.

The Cardinals traded goals with Little Falls in the second period. Austin Fenske scored for the Flyers and Christian Canavati added a goal for Alexandria.

In the third period, Ryan Marciniak, Matt Resch and Danny Hennessy each scored to close out a nonconference road victory for Alexandria.

Sam Goetsch earned the victory for Alexandria, stopping nine of 10 shots on goal.

RIVER LAKES 0

Five different Cardinals scored Thursday as Alexandria halted a two-game losing streak with a 5-0 road win over Central Lakes Conference opponent River Lakes.

Canavati, Eli Heckert and Chris Leary scored in a three-goal second period for Alexandria as it led 4-0 after two periods. Andy Rentschler and McFarlane also scored goals for the Cardinals.

Goetsch stopped all 21 of the shots he saw in goal for the Cardinals.
