The Ashby boys secured a home playoff game by beating Wheaton 66-59 in the regular-season finale last Friday night.

The Arrows got 22 points from Tanner Langlie and 18 points, six rebounds and five assists from Blake Ohren to help secure the win. Ashby will open up the 6A South tournament on Thursday as the fourth seed and against this same Wheaton team.

"Obviously, for both teams, this game meant something," Ashby head coach Jeremy Knick said. "Winning this game doesn't mean our work is done. We now have to defend our court, but we wanted to have one more game at home in front of our fans. Our seniors really wanted that."

The Arrows fell behind 14-6 early before going into the half up 33-28. The Warriors regained the lead in the second half but a pair of free throws from J.P. Moe gave Ashby the lead for good at 42-41.

"Tanner had a great game for us tonight," Knick said. "He was a leader on both sides of the ball. He really set the tone for us tonight and the team really fed off his energy. Gage Olson also had a good night. He got to the rim several times and finished strong. I thought everyone made solid contributions to the win and we played good team basketball."
