The Blue Anchors picked up victories over St. Cloud on Wednesday, Mankato on Thursday and Waterloo on Saturday in five recent games.

A 9-8 win over Waterloo on Saturday helped Alexandria split a weekend series with a Waterloo team that is tied with Lakeshore for the most wins in the Northwoods League this season with 23. The Blue Anchors trailed the Bucks 8-7 heading into the bottom of the ninth inning when designated hitter Nehwon Norkeh delivered a game winning single to drive in Roman Collins and Kris Goodman.

Rob Mouton picked up a win in the game after he pitched 1/3 of an inning in relief in the top of the ninth.

The Blue Anchors picked up a come-from-behind victory over St. Cloud last Wednesday after Jordan Lee, Collins and Ryan Busch each drove in RBIs in a three-run eighth inning that helped Alexandria take a 6-4 lead.

Relief pitcher Sean Terres picked up the win in the game after pitching 4 1/3 innings and allowing two earned runs. Kevin Walsh earned the save after going 2/3 of an inning to end the game.

The next day, the Blue Anchors needed 11 innings to pick up a 5-4 win in Mankato. Lee drove in the game-winning RBI on a single in the 11th inning, and relief pitcher Peter Gaustad picked up the win by going 1 2/3 scoreless innings.

The victories helped the Blue Anchors improve to a 9-24 record this season, including a 5-5 stretch over the past 10 games.
