Blue Anchors lose fourth straight as offense struggles

The offensive struggles continued for the Blue Anchors on Wednesday night as Alexandria failed to score more than three runs for the fourth straight game in a 4-2 loss to Eau Claire.

It was the fourth straight loss for Alexandria. The Blue Anchors had nine hits and three Eau Claire errors to work with but could only push across the two runs. Jason Zgardowski gave Alexandria six innings on the mound. He allowed just two runs on five hits and three walks, while striking out three.

Ben Allen and Cam Duzenack each had two hits apiece for Alexandria. Roman Collins also added his third home run of the year.

The Blue Anchors are now 2-6 in the second half of the season. They will be in Rochester tonight for the start of a two-game series at 7:05.
