A motorist traveling on Highway 29 near the Good Shepherd Church reported that he was almost hit by a pallet that flew out of a garbage truck. He was able to stop in time but was upset that the load wasn’t secured. A deputy planned to talk to the company.

A driver traveling near Jill’s Gas near Nelson at about 8:20 p.m. heard a popping sound from his engine. He pulled into the station and saw that a fire had started underneath the hood. The driver was able to put out the fire with snow and moved it away from the gas pumps.
