A resident on Scenic Heights Road reported an attempted scam. He wired $2,237 through Western Union in response to a Craig’s List ad and the money appeared to have been intercepted. The incident was referred to the FBI’s Internet crime unit.

A resident on Broadway reported that she lost her debit card and there were online transactions appearing on her account. The bank has since closed the account.

Car keys to a Nissan and house keys were found in the Walmart parking lot and turned in to police.

An Oak Knoll resident reported that money was fraudulently taken out of her checking account.

A wallet and a grease gun were stolen on Shepard Road.

May 13

Students at Jefferson High School admitted to smoking marijuana in a vehicle before school.

A resident lost a debit card at the Holiday Station on 50th Avenue.

For the third time in two weeks, a female driver of a gold Pontiac Grand Am with no hubcaps drove away from the Tesoro station on Highway 29 South without paying for gas.

A shoplifter at Trumm Drug was cited for theft.

A resident on Broadway reported leaving a black goose-down vest outside of Raaper’s Eatery and Ale on April 29. It contained his passport and a black tri-fold wallet.

An officer found a key for a night depository box stuck in the keyhole at Bell State Bank and Trust. It was taken to the police department for safekeeping.

During a traffic stop near Lake Street and Seventh Avenue, a driver was arrested for drunk driving and having an outstanding warrant. A passenger was also arrested on felony warrants out of Stearns County.


May 12

Dispatch received a report of a boy on a skateboard who had to fight off a dog near County Road 73 NE, Alexandria. Other problems were reported with the dog chasing runners. The owner of the dog was cited for having a nuisance dog and the township was notified.

The county attorney filed a complaint of welfare fraud in Garfield.

May 13

A lawnmower was stolen from Midwest Machinery.

A tool box, keys and a nylon sling for work equipment were stolen from a residence on Sethney Lane SW, Alexandria.
