Deputies assisted the State Patrol with a search of a vehicle west of the Interstate 94 ramp at mile post 100. A suspect was arrested for drunk driving.

The problem was a valve that malfunctioned and released increased levels of potassium permanganate, used to remove iron, into the system, according to Alexandria Light and Power Utilities. The car was towed.
