At about 4:30 p.m., dispatch received multiple phone calls of a fire at the Tennessee Roadhouse. It was a small grease fire that was quickly extinguished.

The checks are done on a quarterly basis.Dispatch received more than 20 9-1-1 hang-up calls. The callers yelled and swore. It turned out that the owner of the phone thought it was deactivated and gave it to a juvenile, who was still able to call 9-1-1.A woman reported that she was sexually assaulted in Alexandria. Someplace Safe collected evidence with a rape test kit. The victim refused to provide a statement to law enforcement.February 8A suspect was cited for employee theft at Viking Plaza.A shoplifter was cited for theft at Walmart.Dispatch received a report of a black sedan and a silver Grand Prix driving at high speeds, shining bright lights and swerving all over the road on 3rd Avenue East shortly after 11 p.m. Three juvenile passengers were cited for minor consumption of alcohol. A driver was cited for not having a driver’s license and the other driver was warned for having too dark window tint and taillight covers.February 9A coat and debit card were stolen at Garden Center.During a two-hour time frame, officers helped three people who slipped and fell.
SHERIFFFebruary 6A resident reported that her son was approached by a man after church activities in Millerville at about 8 p.m. on February 5, causing her son to run away from the scene. The scruffy faced man had dark hair, a medium build and was wearing a green winter coat, jeans and an orange baseball cap. He was driving a black car, possibly a Honda. The incident is being investigated.February 7A snowmobile accident was reported at about 3:30 p.m. near County Road 38, NE Carlos. The driver, Jeff Wiuff, 49, of West Bend, Iowa, suffered a leg injury. The Douglas County Hospital had no record of treating the driver.February 8A resident on Airway Lane NE, Alexandria reported that $175 was stolen from his wife’s purse about two months ago.February 9A driver reportedly swerved to miss a deer on Centennial Drive and ended up hitting a pole.
