A school bus backed into a car at the intersection of County Road 82 and South McKay Avenue at 8:28 a.m. No one was injured.
Officers ticketed 10 drivers for parking in no parking zones.
A caller reported that a pickup wasn’t driving straight on Highway 29 South. He added that when it stopped at Walmart, the driver wasn’t walking straight either. An officer wasn’t able to locate the pickup.
A burglary was reported at the Noonan Sports Specialists building at 503 Hawthorne Street. A cash box was found on the floor and items were thrown all over. An undisclosed amount of petty cash was stolen.
A residential burglary was reported on South Broadway. The resident found a back door open and reported that documents were stolen.
Residents on Van Dyke Road reported that a neighbor’s dog repeatedly “does its business on their mailbox.”
A caller reported seeing a man standing in the middle of the road between Melody Lane and 16th Avenue at about 10 p.m., waving for help. An officer arrived and found out that the man walked away from a party because the people there were too intoxicated. He said he was new to the area and couldn’t find his way home. The officer gave him a ride.
A caller reported that he tried to help other people start their car on Highway 29 South but it wouldn’t start. He said they told him they were going to get a propane tank and heater and put it under the car, along with putting a blanket over the top of the engine. The caller said this was unsafe and that the vehicle might blow up. An officer responded but couldn’t find the vehicle.
An unknown driver crashed into an Evansville resident’s fence near the intersections of County Roads 1 and 52 sometime within the last month.
Deputies assisted at the scene of a semi crash on Interstate 94 near Brandon at 10:51 p.m. The driver left the road between the exit ramp and the County Road 7 bridge, striking a sign and crashing through a guard rail. No injuries were reported.
Deputies assisted at the scene of a rollover on Highway 29, a mile south of Carlos Corners at about 11:40 a.m. There were only minor injuries reported.
A burglary was reported at a residence along County Road 86 SE, Alexandria. A safe and its contents were stolen. No other details were available.
A caller reported suspicious activity in Carlos: A man playing Frisbee by himself shortly before 10 p.m. A deputy patrolled the area but didn’t find anyone.
A burglary was reported at a residence on Schuelke Beach Road NW, Miltona. A back door was forced open and damaged. Nothing was reported missing.
A power outage affected some Otter Tail Power customers in the Alexandria, Garfield, Farwell and Holmes City areas for more than two hours.
