Blizzard hockey: North Iowa drops Alexandria 4-0

The West Division champions scored three goals in the third period on Sunday to secure a 4-0 win over Alexandria. 

North Iowa got a power-play goal in the first period from Matt Fosdick before both teams went scoreless in the second. Tim Santopoalo, Wesley Iverson and Logan Murphy all added goals in the third to help the Bulls pull away. North Iowa has dominated this season and is now 42-2 with 84 points. 

The Bulls' Chris Amsden got the shutout with 21 saves. Evan Bisek took the loss with 22 saves on 26 shots faced.

Alexandria fell to 30-16 and is currently eight points behind Granite City with two games to play next weekend. The Blizzard will be the three seed in the West Division playoffs.
