The Arrows led 2-1 in the third inning after a two-RBI base hit from catcher Bailey Funkhouser. The Knights quickly responded as freshman catcher Morgan Sanstead got her third RBI of the night with a two-run hit that gave her team a 3-2 lead. WCA kept going from there as Mikaylah Stark knocked in two more with a double. Senior Amy Benson then got her second hit of the night with an RBI hit that made it 7-2.

Christina Kruize had a nice night for the Knights with three hits, three runs scored and three stolen bases. Blascyk also added two hits.

“It was a good first game for both teams,” WCA head coach Bryan Poyzer said. “Doranna found her groove early and had good defense surrounding her. We just got key hits from the bottom part of the order and were smart on the bases.”
